Be involved - Fairfield Housing Perth

Be involved in shaping the Co-operative

We want our tenants to get involved with Fairfield Housing Co-operative, to be part of our work and decisions. There are several ways for you to participate in our work, from joining our board to responding to our surveys, so please think about taking part.

Board membership

Our board of tenant Directors guides the strategic running of the Co-operative guiding policy, performance, business planning and financial management. Board membership is available to any shareholding tenant and there are a maximum of 15 board members. This role is not as daunting as it sounds, as you get full training and you only have to commit to a minimum of a few hours each month. If you are interested in joining the board, please contact any member of staff for an informal chat.

Residents Scrutiny Panel

The panel is a less formal group, but of no less value to our work. Currently we have 20 tenants on the panel and they have agreed to give us feedback four times a year on:

  • Service improvements
  • Proposed actions from feedback results
  • Annual tenant participation strategy
  • Rent and service charge increases

They also help us with the content of tenant-driven publications and can challenge Co-operative decisions.

The majority of feedback is over the phone or by a short questionnaire. If you wish to join this panel and have a say, just give the office a call on 01738 630738.

General feedback

All we ask is that you:

  • Respond to telephone surveys on service delivery
  • Respond to consultation publications on issues such as rent increases and policy changes
  • Attend meetings and Annual General Meetings
  • Give us feedback good or bad on our work in general

You can find more information on our tenant participation plans in our annual tenant participation strategy.
