Fairfield Housing Association

Engagement Plan 2021

The Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) has continued its statutory intervention at Fairfield Housing Association.

The Regulator has published an updated engagement plan which confirms that Fairfield has made progress implementing improvements to address the weaknesses in governance and financial management, which led to the Regulator’s intervention in December 2018, however the Association remains subject to SHR intervention.

Fairfield has entered into a shared services arrangement with Kingdom Housing Association, with Kingdom providing a range of management services.

Fairfield has now decided that it is in the best interests of its tenants to develop proposals for a formal transfer of engagements to Kingdom to fully address the risks associated with the failure to comply with Regulatory Standards.

Tenants have been advised of the above and they will be consulted on the development of the proposals as they are progressed. Any transfer to Kingdom will be subject to an independent tenant ballot later this year and tenants will receive full details as part of the consultation process. An independent adviser (TIS - Tenants Information Service) has been appointed to provide support and advice to tenants throughout the process.
